Explicit Consent Notice

This notice has been prepared under Articles 5/1 and 6/2 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (‘KVKK’) solely for data processing activities based on explicit consent. Each consent below is independent; withholding one does not affect the validity of the others or your access to Monogam’s basic service. You must have read our KVKK Disclosure Notice before registering. You may access the disclosure notice from within the application or at [email protected]. Note: Responses to profile prompts and the chat question feature (‘Get a Question’) are entirely optional. These responses are processed under the explicit consent specified in the disclosure notice, and the consent under Article 1 below also covers these responses.

1. Explicit Consent Regarding the Processing of Special Categories of Personal Data

The following information that you may optionally share when creating a profile in the Monogam application constitutes ‘special categories of personal data’ under Article 6 of the KVKK:

• Sexual orientation and gender preference (information about whom you wish to see)
• Religious belief
• Political views
• Health habits (alcohol and smoking consumption)

The purpose of processing this data is to personalize your profile and offer you more suitable matches. This data is under no circumstances shared with third-party advertising platforms. Sharing this data is entirely optional. Even if you prefer not to share it, you may continue to benefit from Monogam’s basic service. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us via our contact email.

I hereby give my explicit consent to the processing of my special categories of personal data relating to sexual orientation, religious belief, political views, and health habits that I choose to fill in on my profile of my own accord, for the purpose of offering me suitable matches. This approval is optional. If you do not check it, you may continue to benefit from our basic service.

2. Explicit Consent Regarding the Processing of Location Data

Your explicit consent is requested for the processing of your approximate location information in order to enable matching with nearby users.

• Data to be processed: Your device’s approximate location
• Purpose of processing: To recommend users who are geographically near you
• Precise location information: Never shared with other users
• Retention period: For as long as the account remains active; deleted within 30 days after deletion

You may revoke location permission at any time from your device settings or via Profile > Privacy. If you do not grant location permission, match recommendations will be based on the city you enter manually.

I hereby give my explicit consent to the processing of my approximate location information for the purpose stated above. This approval is optional. If you do not check it, city-based match recommendations will continue to be provided.

3. Explicit Consent Regarding Cross-Border Data Transfer

Monogam works with the following third-party service providers established abroad for infrastructure and technical services:

Since our application’s primary database and server infrastructure are located entirely abroad, hosting your data on these platforms is a technical necessity for us to provide our services. Outside of these transfers, your data is not shared with any foreign third party.

I hereby give my explicit consent to the transfer of my personal data to the above-mentioned service providers abroad in line with the application’s infrastructure requirements. This approval is required for the provision of the basic service. If you do not give approval, you may not be able to use the application.

4. Explicit Consent Regarding the Sending of Commercial Electronic Messages

Your explicit consent is requested for Monogam to send you commercial electronic messages for the following purposes:

• Campaigns and special offers
• Information about new features and updates
• Match recommendations and in-app activity notifications

Communication channels: Email and/or push notification. You may withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us via our contact email. This approval also covers consent to receive commercial electronic messages under Law No. 6563 on the Regulation of Electronic Commerce. Your approval will be reported to the Message Management System (İYS).

I hereby approve that Monogam may send me commercial electronic messages via email and/or push notification channels for the purpose of informing me about campaigns, special offers, and new features. This approval is entirely optional. You will continue to benefit from our basic service.

General Provisions

All or part of the above consents are withdrawable. Withdrawal of your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. You may submit consent withdrawal requests through the following channels:
