Community Guidelines

These guidelines form an integral part of our Terms of Use.
Monogam aims to provide a respectful and safe environment for everyone, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ethnic origin or belief. These guidelines exist to protect our community. Sanctions applied in the event of violations are determined according to the nature and severity of the violation.
1. Identity and Authenticity
Monogam aims to build real connections between real people.
- Using your real name and information is mandatory
- Impersonating another person or imitating celebrities or well-known people is prohibited
- Creating fake profiles, bot accounts or multiple accounts is prohibited
- Misrepresenting your age, appearance or identity is prohibited
- Your photos must be real and current; you may only upload photos of yourself
Sanction: If a fake profile is detected, an account verification request; if there is no response or verification fails, a permanent ban.
2. Respect and Safety
Every user has the right to be treated with respect.
- Sending messages intended to harass, bully, threaten or intimidate is prohibited
- Sending persistent messages or following someone who has rejected a connection after matching is prohibited
- Hate speech — directed at gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, religion, disability or any other characteristic — is strictly prohibited
- Discriminatory, degrading or exclusionary content targeting LGBTQ+ individuals is prohibited
- Sharing content intended to shame, expose or damage the reputation of users is prohibited
- Messages containing threats of violence or intent to cause physical harm are prohibited
Sanction: A warning for minor violations; temporary suspension for repeat violations. For threats of violence or severe harassment, a direct permanent ban and, where necessary, reporting to the competent authorities.
3. Inappropriate Content
Monogam is not an explicit content platform.
- Sharing sexually explicit or pornographic photos, videos or messages is prohibited
- Sending unsolicited sexual messages is prohibited
- Any content involving persons under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the competent authorities
- Sharing violent, gory or disturbing visual content is prohibited
- Using inappropriate or sexual images as a profile photo is prohibited
Sanction: For sexually explicit content, content removal and a warning; a permanent ban for repeat violations. For any content involving children, an immediate permanent ban and mandatory reporting to the legal authorities.
4. Spam and Commercial Use
Monogam is for personal and individual use only.
- Sending advertising, promotional or commercial messages is prohibited
- Sharing spam links to other platforms, websites or services is prohibited
- Sending the same message in bulk to multiple users is prohibited
- Offering paid content, escort services or relationships in exchange for money is prohibited
- Requesting money or gifts or attempting financial fraud is prohibited
Sanction: For spam content, content removal and a warning; a permanent ban for repeat violations. For attempted financial fraud, a direct permanent ban.
5. Privacy and Data Security
Respecting the privacy of other users is mandatory.
- Sharing other users’ photos, messages or personal information without their consent is prohibited
- Exposing the Monogam profile of someone you know from another platform (“outing”) is prohibited; this can cause serious harm, especially for LGBTQ+ individuals
- Sharing users’ location, workplace or personal information with others without their consent is prohibited
- Spreading private messages by taking screenshots is prohibited
- Using content to threaten or blackmail another person is prohibited
In order to ensure platform safety, Monogam reserves the right to review private messaging content only in limited cases, such as when there is a report, a request from judicial authorities, or detection of a serious rule violation (harassment, abuse).
Sanction: For privacy violations, content removal and temporary suspension. For “outing” or blackmail, a direct permanent ban and reporting to the competent authorities.
6. Safe Meetings
Monogam is a virtual platform; real-life meetings are your own responsibility. For your safety:
- Hold your first meeting in a crowded, public place
- Before meeting, tell someone you trust where you are going
- Arrange your own transportation
- Avoid sharing your real home address or workplace with people you don’t know
- If you feel in danger, contact the competent authorities immediately
Monogam cannot be held responsible for real-life interactions between users. However, we encourage you to share with us any safety violations that occur within the app.
7. Reporting
If you encounter content or behavior that violates the guidelines:
- Use the “Report” button next to the relevant profile or message
- You can submit your report in detail through the in-app Support section
- In emergency safety situations, please contact the competent authorities first
All reports are reviewed confidentially. You may be notified of the outcome of a report, but details of moderation decisions are not shared.
8. Sanctions System
Depending on their nature, violations may result in the following sanctions:

| Very serious violation (child content, threat of violence, blackmail) | Immediate permanent ban + report to the competent authorities |
Monogam determines sanction decisions unilaterally. Decisions are made taking into account the context, frequency and severity of the violation.
9. Appeal Process
If you believe a moderation decision regarding your account was in error, you may appeal within 30 days of the date of the action:

Your appeal will be reviewed within 14 business days and the outcome will be communicated. Access to your account may remain restricted during the appeal process. For serious violations such as child content or threats of violence, a permanent ban decision cannot be changed by appeal.
10. Guideline Updates
These guidelines may be updated from time to time according to the needs of the community. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. The current guidelines will always be accessible within the app.
